Easier decision making regarding employee hiring and availability of the right people to meet the company’s needs.

We had the opportunity to interview Mr. Worawoot Konsap, HR division at SilkSpan Co., Ltd., a Thai company that operates and sells a price comparison website specializing in financial and insurance products in Thailand, about our aptitude test “HCi-AS”.

Q. How did you hear about our A-CAST?

Silkspan’s recruiting team is always looking for tools to help us recruit employees more effectively. In this case, I searched for “human resources aptitude test” on an Internet search site and found a page for an aptitude test tool called “HCi-AS”. I was interested in this tool because it was an aptitude test tool involving a Japanese company. I already know that Japan is an organized workplace, and I feel comfortable with the Japanese brand. Therefore, I decided to use “HCi-AS” this time.

Q. Why did you decide to use the HCi-AS?

After using the HCi-AS aptitude test, what sets the HCi-AS apart is not simply that the test taker is “good” or “bad,” but that the analyzed data reveals what is good and what needs improvement. The results of the test reveal what qualities a person excels in. It then clarifies what areas need improvement, which helps determine whether the HCi-AS test taker is a good fit for the position the company is seeking. While other personnel aptitude tests only give results with general information about what fields a person is suited for, such as art, music, or academics, the HCi-AS provides a more in-depth analysis, such as “what needs to be developed in a person”. In addition, the testing fee is reasonable.

Q. What problems did you face before implementing the aptitude test?

Rounding out new employees was a vexing task for our recruiting team.
In the past, the decision to hire an employee was often based on the interviewer’s personal feelings, such as “this person has good communication skills” or “this person has good experience.
However, we believe that the aptitude testing tool (HCi-AS) allows us to learn more about the true nature of the candidate. This part of the process cannot be known or verified through interviews alone.
For this reason, the use of the HCi-AS has facilitated our decision-making process regarding employee hiring. Before the introduction of the aptitude test, we used to hire 80-90% of those interviewed. Now, however, we use the aptitude testing tool (HCi-AS) to make hiring decisions, and the hiring rate is around 50%. With the introduction of HCi-AS, we are now able to secure suitable employees for our company more efficiently than before.

Q. How do you actually use the HCi-AS?

We use the HCi-AS not just to recruit new employees, but also for our internal executives. This has allowed us to analyze a person’s personality and down to the essentials. In fact, the results of the test were right in line with the actual characteristics of the executives. This gives us confidence that the HCi-AS is really useful in screening people.
